Name:  Deborah Livingston

In her memoir, STRAND OF PEARLS, Deborah Livingston recounts her journey from childhood abuse, frequent tragedy and adult addiction to a spiritual transformation that brought her an inner peace and joy available to us all. Deborah was the first of three children born to parents--a Canadian father, a New England mother--who were worlds apart in their own upbringings and views of the world. From two to sixteen, when she was finally able to break free, Deborah suffered abuse at the hands of her father. Her freedom from that abuse took her to abuse at the hands of others, and to a tragic accident that cost the life of a friend. Her misfortunes early in life and her inability to see them as the "pearls" they actually were led to serious addiction in her early forties. And yet this addiction saved her life, preparing her for the inner transformation she would experience. In STRAND OF PEARLS to embrace Deborah Livingston invites the reader into the most painful, raw moments of her past so that the light of the present might shine brighter--as an invitation to others hope, faith and gratitude in their lives. Today Deborah Livingston lives with her loving husband, Joel, in Massachusetts, and is the proud mother of a college-age daughter, Cassandra. She is a practicing AOBTA-certified traditional Chinese medicine therapist, intuitive medium and believes in life's gifts whatever forms they may take.

Name: Jack Caseros

Jack Caseros is an ecologist who tells people at bars that he’s a writer. Then he says something clever, like, “I see poetry everywhere.” Which is, unfortunately, true. He currently resides in midwestern Canada. His first novel, Onwards & Outwards, is available as an e-book at most major online retailers.

Jack has also constructed an indie publishing organization, Kaleidoscope Reality. You can find more about Jack and Kaleidoscope Reality at: www.jackcaseros.webs.com.

 Jack Caseros is the son of an Argentine and a Canadian, and this dual identity features strongly in his works—not explicitly, of course, because that would be boring. Jack’s work is rooted in the Hindu proverb “Unity in variety is the plan of creation.” Jack believes art is a mirror, and that this mirror is useful in conveying the spectrum of consciousness. But then again, Jack writes because he just loves it.

NAME: Kwame Ivery

BIO: I was born in the Bronx, NY and was raised in New Jersey. I have an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University's Tisch School Of The Arts. My short story "Why Kristen Misses Push & Turn" will be featured in Smashed Cat magazine in August 2012.
WHAT I WRITE: I write short fiction that could be classified as bizarro, which is probably a fancy way of saying "weird."  My fiction presents reality, but it's a reality heavily laced with things that probably wouldn't happen in reality--pretty much the way reality looks in your dreams: you recognize it, but you don't recognize it. So in my stories you'll see pizza, but it'll be the kind of pizza whose cheese stretches through New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, etc.; you'll see a married couple, but one of them will have once been married to a horse; you'll see street vendors, but they will sell things like Geena Davis' tongue. That's what I write.
