Name: ED Martin
ED is a writer with a knack for finding new jobs in new places. Born and raised in Illinois, her past incarnations have included bookstore barista in Indiana, legal system statistician in North Carolina, and economic development analyst in North Dakota. She draws on her experiences to tell the stories of those around her, with a generous heap of "what if" thrown in.
She currently lives in Iowa where she teaches high school while working on her novels and taking pictures of whatever catches her eye.
Her stories have been published in The Journal of Microliterature, The Indiana Horror Anthology 2011, and Hobo Camp Review, among other places.
ED writes stories, from 250-word flash fiction to 100k+ word novels, dabbling in different genres: general real life here and now, fantasy, horror, magical realism; whatever it takes to tell a story. Most of what she writes focuses on the characters rather than straight-up plot. Many of her stories have a common theme - the eternal nature of the soul - so she's trying to focus on that aspect, in the hopes of compiling a book of related short stories some day.
